The Batwing House

The project is an extension to an existing house in a heritage overlay in Ascot Vale. The design connects the old untouched heritage façade with the new contemporary rear of the house. The design is in response to a client brief that called for additional spaces for a growing family and private spaces for each the children and parents. Privacy between the parents and children via a separated wing, the programmatic special requirements as well as a strong emphasis on natural light were the driving factors in the design outcome.
